Limping Home In Fine Fashion

I just landed in Detroit yesterday. There are a lot of friends in town and a lot happening. So much to do, so much to see. Larry, Glenn, Jumbos, Soul Skate, Hagi, Beige Wagon, Eagle, Macho City, Lopez. Something tells me sundown on the Isle last night might make the top of the list.  Who could ask for more?

The stars are aligned, if you are in the city for weekend hit me up. Better yet check me out at Alvin’s early in the day on Sunday (5/30). I’m playing along with Brad Hales, Recloose, and Kon just to name a few.

Alvin’s 5756 Cass Ave. Detroit MI

Starting early 4PM!! Ending Late 3AM

Jumbo’s

I’ll be playing records with my friends Scott Zee & Mike Tee tomorrow.  It’s gonna be great fun to be back in Detroit playing some good tunes.  Better yet hearing some good tunes, I’m playing with two of Detroit’s finest.  If you’re in Detroit and haven’t checked out Macho City yet I guess you don’t like to dance.  Even if you go to the (secret) Dirtbombs show you’re welcome to shake that garage grease off at Jumbo’s afterward.  Even if you hate the music the drinks are cheap.  Jumbo’s is at 3736 3rd St. in DEEETROIT Michigan.

Thanks For Waiting

I just got the word on JBX’s new mix on Love On The Run’s Secret Rendezvous.  What a website.  What a mix.  Round this time last year I couldn’t stop listening to JBX’s Key To Love. Looks like a sweet repeat!

Long Overdue

Hello hello,

It’s been far too long, but as you can see I’m still here. I’ve updated the site with some new looks. Have no fear there is new music on the way too. There is a new mix from Asaf called Tennis Court Place, fans of Argyle will be happy. That mix should be up soon. (Sorry Asaf)

I’d like to thank everyone for the words of encouragement during the downtime. It means everything to me to know these mixes “reach out across” the world and touch the people that love them. I promise to keep it up.

You can look for more fun stuff more often, crazy videos, amazing art, and of course the best in soul and hard to find music. Stay tuned.

Forest Fire

Sad to hear the news this morning that the Forest Arms has burned. The Forest Arms is an apartment building in Detroit and home to Peoples Records. The damage is pretty extensive and Peoples is waste deep in water.
